MCCALL — The Salmon River volleyball girls beat Cascade 3-1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-16, 25-12) last Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Long Pin Conference’s 1AD2 District III tournament. With that win, they advanced to play against No. 2 seed Horseshoe Bend, which won narrowly, 3-1 (25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16). That put SRHS against Garden Valley after the print deadline Tuesday night, Oct. 20, with a chance to play No. 1 Tri-Valley for the district title and a state berth, or to rematch Horseshoe Bend for a play-in opportunity at 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Timberline High School in Boise.
