There were 25,549 basketball players who braved the hot streets at the Spokane Hoopfest this last weekend; many players were from our surrounding communities.

Congratulations to team “Dubsmash Sisters:” Graciela Broncheau, (daughter of Abe and Susan Broncheau); Mariah Porter, (daughter of Adam and Angie Porter); Ashlyn Schoening, (daughter of Danny and Amber Schoening; and Ayanna Pinkham (daughter of Jeanette Pinkham). “Dubsmash Sisters” came around the winners' bracket, with such determination and grace; our girls had very many spectators cheering for them and encouraging them at all their games.  One lady made the comment that the girls played very well together and showed true sportsmanship. This was the girls first Hoopfest they played as a team and they did a fabulous job! I am very proud of these girls!

Christian Robbins' (son of Abe and Susan Broncheau) team “Emoji-WanKenobi” with Trey Dreadfulwater, (son of Brad and Lisa Dreadfulwater); Kyle Frei (son of Steve and Kristy Frei) and Damian Forsythe, (son of Jacob and Roshelle Forsythe) lost a heartbreaker championship game. They had to play with just three guys because one of the boys suffered heat exhaustion earlier that day. Good game guys you made us proud!

Tyrel Henry’s team “Babyface Assassins” with Kaleb and Titus Oatman (sons of Marcus and Laura Oatman); and Lacey Kudt, (daughter of Nels and Leah Kludt), they also played very well throughout the weekend.

Please be safe in this EXTREME HEAT!  Please don’t leave children alone in cars..always check the back seat! For more information regarding heat emergencies visit Kamiah NMPH clinic lobby.

Have a healthy safe 4th of July Holiday!

Birthday blessings to Lyle Davis, David Penney, and Jeanie (Babe) Nichols, and Carolyn Sutherland.

Yox Kalo (That’s all!)
