I am so very grateful for the kind-hearted Lapwai friends and relatives that helped our community in our time of need this past week; by cooking for our firemen, displaced fire victims and elders and for providing the Red Cross donation/ distribution site. The Nez Perce Tribe Social Service department, Jackie McArthur, Jeanette Pinkham, Joni Williams, Taricia Moliga, Kylie St. Paul, Karee Picard, Loraine Harris, Kay Seven, and Julia Davis Wheeler have been doing a great job sorting and setting out the tremendous donations received by so many people. My heart swells with pride, seeing our communities work so well together for the care of all our   fire victims. I enjoyed working with all of them and the cooks, Sara Moffett, Linda Walker, Lora Reuben and girls, Irene Kipp, Paulette Smith, Lee Bourgeau, Keith and DelRae Kipp and family, Laurie Ann Cloud, Rebecca Miles, Catherine Big Man, Wenona Holt and the Appaloosa Express drivers this past week, fabulous job people! And hats off to Aaron Miles and crew for taking leadership during the wildfires! Now you all get some rest! I visited The Life Center, they are very busy with all the donations they have received. Their volunteers are doing a fantastic job serving the fire victims too! Isn’t our community wonderful…I love it!

Kamiah NMPH Dental will open two Fridays a month. Please call the dental department at 935-0733 ext. 4508 to schedule appointments.

Congratulations to Sandra Slickpoo, she was the July winner of the Kamiah NMPH Sports Fitness drawing.
