Richard Lee Frank, Sr., 73, (Papa) of Kamiah, Idaho, went to meet the Lord, on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Richard was born in Patterson, Calif, on May 8, 1947, to Muriel and Walter Frank. He was the youngest of six children.
He graduated from Patterson High School in 1964. On Jan. 14, 1967, he married Faye Kelley. Five years later they had a son, Richard Lee Frank, Jr.
He was a preacher who helped spread the gospel for many years. He pastored churches in Missoula, Mont, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Elmante, Calif, Orofino, Idaho and Kingsburg, Calif., finally, settling in Kamiah where he and his family lived for 26 years.
All his life he was an amazing mechanic who could fix anything he put his mind to. People from all over would come to have “Uncle Frank” fix their vehicles. He was a member of the First Apostolic Acts Church and he will be greatly missed by his Church Family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Frank; his only son, Richard Lee Frank, Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Katie Frank; and his precious grandchildren: Samuel, Desyrai, Elliot, and Melody Frank, who dearly loved him; his brother, Charles; sisters, Juanita, Shirley, Deloris, and Geraldine; also, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Frank, and mother, Muriel Frank, both of Patterson; his father-in-law, Rev. Audley Kelley and mother-in-law, Muriel Kelley, both of Kamiah; also, his beloved cat, Wampus.
His family would like to thank Pastor Stephen and Gayle Kelley for all of their love and support that they have given them through all these years, especially this last month while Papa was so sick. Our wonderful Church Family, thank you for all of the prayers, support, meals, and love. You helped our loss be a bit more bearable. Also, our community for your many condolences, flowers, and phone calls. May the Lord bless you all for your kind words during this time.
A viewing will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at First Apostolic Acts Church in Kamiah. Funeral service will start at noon. Burial to follow at Grandview/German Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Trenary Funeral Home, Kooskia, Idaho.
