KAMIAH -- Avista’s contractor, Wilson Construction, will be conducting work in the Kamiah area that requires a planned power outage starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, and ending at 3 p.m. the same day.
Roughly 53 Avista customers will be impacted in the city of Kamiah. A Wilson Construction crew will be changing out a power pole where access is limited, requiring a longer than normal outage time. This work is in support of Avista’s wildfire resiliency efforts, with updates to distribution facilities. This work is referred to as grid hardening. Some examples of grid hardening are replacing wood cross arms with fiberglass, replacing key wood poles with metal poles, updating wire, and adding wildlife covers.
