Kamiah Community Library:

We had a couple more hidden prizes in our Virtual Room claimed last week. Visit prld.org/kamiah and scroll down to see the entry to our Virtual Room. Once there, explore the eight modules for activities, books you can borrow and YouTube videos on the topics in addition to hidden prizes.

We have a big stash of prizes for the end of Summer Reading Program and will start drawing names at the end of August. If you registered, you’re already entered. If you sent us photos of completed crafts, you’re entered. If you want to make double-sure you are entered, call the library 208-935-0428 and leave your name and phone number.

The Air Quality flag flying in front of the library has been yellow, orange and red lately. The partnership with Nez Perce Tribe’s ERWM department means we have a sensor mounted outside the library that measures particles in the air. We check the website to see the air quality and fly the appropriately colored flag. Stop by 505 Main Street and read about this program in our front window.

Kooskia Community Library:

Our hearts are warmed with the generosity of our community. We have been lucky to receive not only flower bouquets, garden bounty, surprise coffee drinks, and thoughtful handwritten messages from our patrons, but also a total of more than $2,500 in cash donations in the last year. Several people have said the library helped them get through the last year and it’s our wonderful patrons who help us keep going, as well. Thank you.

If you missed Dena at the Kooskia Farmers’ Market on July 15, you missed baking soda and vinegar rockets! Check out the Kooskia Community Library’s Facebook page for videos of those rockets and more. What will she bring next week? It’s bound to be fun. Be at Kooskia City Park every Thursday this summer, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to see.

There’s still time to play Book Bingo and enter to win a prize. Pick up a printed copy at any PRLD branch or contact us and we will email you one. (Prizes are for local residents). Many prizes including books, toys and puzzles were purchased with the generous donations mentioned earlier. The Virtual Room can be accessed at prld.org/kooskia.
