Kamiah Community Library:

This week, we helped someone activate their prepaid cell phone on the Verizon network, copied legal papers, faxed medical documents, loaned DVDs off the rolling cart, distributed Summer Reading Prizes and redecorated our brand-new window (thanks, City Hall Maintenance!) with great book options to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Although the official holiday is Oct. 11, we are featuring books by Indigenous authors all month long.

The library will temporarily have shortened hours for four weeks while staff takes time away from the library. We appreciate your patience and flexibility in advance. Starting Monday, Oct. 18, the hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Thursday (closed Fridays). Normal hours will resume Monday, Nov. 15. If you need library services outside of these times, contact us. We can make deliveries to Burkhart Homes or other locations in town. The Libby app features thousands of ebooks and audiobooks you can download, up to seven at once, via Wi-Fi to take anywhere. Call 208-935-0428 for information.

Kooskia Community Library:

If you need an indoor activity that is free, cozy and works your noggin, the library has a puzzle exchange. Let Dena know your needs by calling 208-926-4539 ahead of time or stop by to browse at curbside. Work a couple, return them and pick out more – just another free service from your library.

Several patrons have had issues with the Libby app not letting them log in since the last update. If you have trouble, call Dena or MaryAnn. You can now add other libraries in Idaho through the app, increasing your selection of ebook and audiobook choices. Visit prld.org and click “Expanded Selection” banner to get directions, or contact your local branch.
