KAMIAH — Although it was a cloudy day, the Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) Recovery picnic at the Riverfront Park in Kamiah went on as scheduled, providing for adults and kids to hang out, complete with games and food.

Last Saturday, June 18, Amber Sanderson and the UYLC Recovery Program held a picnic for all community members. They were also celebrating Father’s Day, and were welcoming any fathers to come and celebrate. There were a great number of both families and adults present. They provided various different foods, such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and side dishes. For games, they had cornhole (or beanbag toss). There were camping chairs provided for seating other than the park benches.

Because of the cloudy weather, the movie night planned for 8 p.m. was postponed to this Friday, June 24, at 8:30 p.m. They will be showing the movie “Beautiful Boy” starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet.
