CRAIGMONT — The annual Craigmont June Picnic is set for this weekend, June 24, 25 and 26.

The fun begins Friday, June 24, with a parent and child cornhole tournament at the city park beginning at 3 p.m. The grand marshal social dinner is set for 6 p.m. at city hall. The co-ed softball tourney begins at 5 p.m. at Tatko Field.

Saturday, June 25, will kick off with the Country Kids 4-H breakfast at Woody’s Café at 7 a.m., followed by the continuation of the softball tournament at 8 a.m. The fun run/walk will take registrations at 7:30 a.m. at Highland High School and will start at 8 a.m. Also, at 8 a.m. will be the Kelly Robertson Memorial Co-Ed Volleyball Tourney at the city park.

The parade is set for Main Street at 10.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Concessions, including Lions Burgers, will be available throughout the day. The American Legion barbecue is set for 11:30 a.m. at the park, and ping pong ball drop with pilot Tom Gehring will be held at the same time, followed by kids’ games at 11:45 a.m. A Quilts of Valor presentation is set for 12:30 p.m. and music in the park will begin at 1 p.m.

A sidewalk chalk art contest is set from 1 to 3 p.m., with judging at 3 p.m., in the city parking lot. A horseshoe tournament will begin at 2 p.m., an egg toss is set for 4:30 p.m. (register at 3:45 p.m.), and another cornhole tournament will begin at 5:30 p.m. (register at 5 p.m.). Round out the night with a street dance with the band Vintage Youth set for 7 p.m. on Main Street.

Sunday will conclude with an ATV Fun Run that starts near the city park, and the Lions Burger trailer will be open this day, as well.
