Youth academy offers effective alternative

     The youth of today don't always make the right choices despite how much effort we put into raising them, but for Senior Airmen Emily Remington of Kooskia and Dominik Anderson of Kamiah, the choice was clear. Like other students attending the Idaho Youth Challenge Academy, (IYCA) they wanted the opportunity to better themselves.

     IYCA is part of the National Guard youth challenge program. It is a completely free state run residential and post–residential program for youth who either have dropped out of high school or are considering doing so.  The program is strictly on a volunteer basis for any kids 16–18 years of age that meet that criterion.
