Oregon wolf killed at Winona

A female collared wolf from Oregon was legally shot and killed by two Winona men when it loped across a field below the home of one of the men on March 2.

The 100-pound pregnant two-year-old female, known as OR17, was part of the Imnaha Pack of northeastern Oregon. The wolf was the sixth to disperse from Oregon since 2011, according to Russ Morgan, wolf coordinator for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
