Valley touched by fires, championships and kindness

     Here is a look back at what made headlines in 2012. 

January

     A windstorm with gust over 60 mph damages numerous homes and businesses across the region, knocking out power to hundreds.

     Lewis County Prosecutor Kimron Torgerson drops all charges against men involved in a 2011 shootout at Kamiah. Four people were injured in the melee and a home and car damaged from gunfire.

     Former LCSO dispatcher Jennie Masengale is charged with misusing funds.

     The Save the Pool Committee hosts the 34th annual Crab Feed.

     Kooskia Chamber hosts first Taste of the Clearwater in an effort to raise funds for chamber events and operations.

     Ana Pauley named CVRA queen.
